Hollywood actress Jada Pinkett Smith talks about the Oscars slap incident in an episode of “Red Table Talk” on Wednesday. She hopes that Will and Chris will resolve their differences after what happened at the ceremony. The slap had everyone in shock when Will, who suddenly burst onto the scene, did the act to Chris after he popped a joke about Jada’s close-cropped haircut. Jada has been suffering from alopecia, and it was not taken lightly by him, considering how hard the condition can be. During the show, Jada welcomed a guest who is a mother to a 12-year-old Alopecia patient who committed suicide after being bullied for having the illness. “This is a really important ‘Red Table Talk’ on alopecia. Considering what I’ve been through and what happened at the Oscars, thousands have reached out to me with their stories,” Jada said. “I’m using this moment to give our alopecia family an opportunity to talk about what it’s like to have this condition and to inform people about what alopecia actually is.” Afterward, Jada talked about what happened at the Academy Awards, “Now, about Oscar night, my deepest hope is that these two intelligent, capable men have an opportunity to heal, talk this out, and reconcile. The state of the world today, we need ’em both, and we all actually need one another more than ever.” “Until then, Will and I are continuing to do what we have done for the last 28 years, and that keeps figuring out this thing called life together. Thank you for listening.” After the incident, the Smiths went black on social media, with only Jada’s title card from the show stating, “Considering all that has happened in the last few weeks, the Smith family has been focused on deep healing. Some of the discoveries around our healing will be shared at the table when the time calls. Until then, the table will continue offering itself to powerful, inspiring and healing testimonies like that of our incredibly impressive first guest.” Chris already received the apology from Will days following the incident. However, the Academy already decided the punishment for Will – banning him from the Awards Show for a decade.
