Johnny Depp took to TikTok to thank fans for their unwavering support during the recent defamation trial involving him and his ex-wife Amber Heard.

In his newly made TikTok account, the Pirates of the Caribbean leading actor told his supporters that he would “move forward” after the trial concluded.

“To all of my most treasured, loyal and unwavering supporters. We’ve been everywhere together, we have seen everything together. We have walked the same road together. We did the right thing together, all because you cared,” Depp told his followers.

“And now, we will all move forward together. You are, as always, my employers and once again I am whittled down to no way to say thank you, other than just by saying thank you. So, thank you. My love & respect, JD,” the actor added.

The legal battle started when Depp filed a case against Amber Heard for an op-ed she sent to The Washington Post. In the 2018 op-ed, Heard called herself “a public figure representing legal abuse.”

While nobody was named in Heard’s write-up, Depp told the court that it had him lose several roles for films. However, Heard countersued for $100 million for the statements made against her.

The jury found both guilty of defamation. However, Depp was awarded a higher settlement than Heard – Depp with $10 million in compensatory charges and $350,000 in punitive damages, whereas Heard will only receive $2 million in compensatory damages.

Depp’s supporters were overflowing during the span of the trial – expressing their support on TikTok and waiting outside the Virginia court to see how the actor was doing amid the trial.

Meanwhile, Heard cried foul over the decision saying that the jury was influenced by Depp’s “fame, power, and influence.” Heard’s spokesman says that an appeal may soon be docketed.

Camille Vasquez, the lawyer for Depp, became an instant sensation among peers and has been promoted to partner at Brown Rudnick.

The law firm said, “Camille’s performance during the Johnny Depp trial proved to the world that she was ready to take this next step now. We are incredibly proud of her and look forward to what she will accomplish as our newest partner.”

A spokesperson for Heard released a statement after the actor made his TikTok account, “As Johnny Depp says he’s ‘moving forward,’ women’s rights are moving backward. The verdict’s message to victims of domestic violence is…be afraid to stand up and speak out.”
