OLEG ASTAKHOV: THE BALLROOM DANCER TAKING LATIN AMERICAN DANCE TO A WHOLE NEW LEVEL

Ukrainian national, Oleg Astakhov is turning heads with his unique ballroom dance routines. With his desire to succeed at what has now become his profession, Oleg is determined to set the stage for an all-inclusive access to the world of ballroom dancing.

On his Instagram page, he shows viewers step-by-step techniques on how to do the Rumba, Cha-cha, Samba, Mamba, Salsa, Bachata, Waltz and many more.

Born April 17 1982 in a small city – Lutsk, Oleg from early on in life, was motivated by dance to work on himself and become a better dancer. Today, he is an award winning dance professional and elite instructor. When he moved from Ukraine to Poland, he participated in one of the most popular reality TV shows: Bar 4, the Polish version of Big Brother. He became one of the most popular contestants. Although he did not win, he attracted a large fan base. He continued to practice his dance moves and eventually moved to Los Angeles, California.

He has participated in several dance competitions, some of which are the Royal Ball 2019, California Open 2018 and 2019, Hollywood Dancesport 2018, Embassy Ballroom Championships 2019, where he and Marybeth McCullum won all dances in the Senior 2 category. Oleg Astakhov also starred in the Ballroom Reality TV Episode 7 (Elite Dancesport Ballroom Competition) with Kristina Androsenko in October 2020. He also has a show called Dance Studio Reality Show.

He teaches dance in such a simple and refined way that even a beginner can catch on. When he is not dancing or taking his students on dance lessons, he plays tennis and golf with friends. He and his dance partners do not fail to deliver, illustrating the poise of the art. He has dance studios in Beverley Hills, and Arcadia, all in Los Angeles, California.

He is a Digital Marketing Specialist and Consultant, having graduated with a Masters in Management & Marketing and also in Psychology from John Paul II Catholic University of Lublin – KUL in Poland. He is the founder and creator of the app, “Dance with Oleg.” With this app he offers step-by-step ballroom and Latin dance lessons to students across the world through monthly subscription.

One of the biggest challenges for dancers is staying relevant in the industry. Oleg Astakhov has shown that he is up for the challenge. With over 224 million views on YouTube along side his large following on Instagram, Tiktok, Twitter and Facebook, he is set to take ballroom and Latin dancing to another level.
