Kelly Reddington Takes Candle Industry to New Heights Through Big Wick Candle Co.

The candle industry is notorious for being serious and boring. But creative entrepreneur Kelly Reddington is bringing something relatively new to the table. Equipped with humor, he seeks to help people relax while also having fun.

Growing up in one of the worst parts of Buffalo, New York, Kelly faced serious challenges in life. There were times when his family did not have enough money even to buy food. From these experiences,  he always dreamt about rising above life’s financial challenges.

At only 15 years old, he came up with a brilliant entrepreneurial idea. When his school sports team needed a fundraiser but could not get a call back from a particular company, Kelly decided to take matters into his hands. He founded Altered Seasons Candle Co., a candle business aimed to specialize in fundraising. Other schools, eventually, began asking the candle company to handle their fundraising projects.

A month before turning 18, Kelly would hit $75,000 for the sales of the candles. The business was going so well. It was a dream come true. But Kelly felt that he missed out on the fun things in life as his hands were tied to the beats of a business that he created. At 19, he sold his candle business to a regional fundraising company for $1,000,000.

He bought his family a house, a few cars, and for himself, he bought all the childhood toys which his family could not afford when he was growing up. Like a kid, Kelly was having fun and making up for his lost time.

Eventually, he started another candle business, but this time, with a unique twist. This was how he started the company, Big Wick Candles. The young entrepreneur was determined to make the brand bold and fun. He wanted to be different from the typical candle industry. He wanted to stand out, and he did so through the use of humor.

All the candles feature funny names with humorous sayings and creative graphics that will surely make people smile and laugh. These handmade and eco-friendly candles are also phthalate-free. They are made and sourced from soy blend wax and are placed in reusable and recyclable jars. High-quality products that are friendly to the environment, coupled with a great sense of humor was Kelly’s priority for this business.

Today Big Wick Candles. Co has garnered a large following of 16,000 on its Instagram page alone. The business continues to grow and continues to serve as a reminder for people to let loose, relax, and have fun.

For Kelly, having fun is one of the most important things in life. Many people take things too seriously, and this leads us to miss out on the fun things that life has to offer. With that in mind, the successful businessman urges people to find it in themselves to be light, be free, and have fun.
