Everybody has a story to tell, but not everyone speaks of it the same way. Artists, in particular, have very unique ways of amplifying their narrative out into the world. Some may use photography; for others, it could be painting. But for Karrell Rogers, music was the best avenue for him to express himself and share his journey.
Karrell Rogers is an upcoming musician who has had his fair share of difficulties in life. He was born on August 15, 1989, an arrival overdue by two weeks because of some complications with his umbilical cord. Even in the womb, as he was fighting to live, Karrell portrayed the traits of a brave individual who was about to face life with eyes wide open. The artist was born with type two grand mal seizures and was later diagnosed with schizophrenia and diabetes.
Besides his health problems, Karrell Rogers also had a challenging upbringing. Being African-American, he faced prejudice and judgment based on skin color alone. In 2003, he and his godbrother were falsely accused of first- and second-degree armed robbery. He was only 13 at that time with no money to pay the $100,000 bail. Karrell had to stay in the house of corrections in Philadelphia, PA.
Despite his circumstances, the artist never lost track of his passion for music. He would spend hours enhancing his talent and visualized that, someday, his dream of becoming a household name in the music industry would come true. After getting out on parole and probation for good behavior, Karrell Rogers received an offer to sign with Bentley Records. But being legally disabled, Karrell failed to land the deal.
Still, Karrell Rogers did not lose hope and persevered to put his music out there in the world. Today, the artist amazes listeners and music lovers with his ability to defy boundaries and produce multi-genre tracks. Besides strengthening his music career, Karrell is also diving into other ventures. He is the founder and CEO of LowLyfe7Filmz. At present, Karrell works with Stage 32 to produce worthwhile creations that will indeed cause a stir in the entertainment scene.
Asked what motivates him to keep going, Karrell Rogers shared that he wants to become a good role model for his 9-year-old son, Jay Christopher Rao. As a father, he wants to do everything in his power to provide him with a life he never had, filled with many opportunities and a promise of a brighter future. Karrell hopes to put his son through college and equip him with the right education.
Outside being a family man, Karrell Rogers is also invested in helping others in his community. The entrepreneur wants his company to foster young musicians who face great turmoil in urban areas. Karrell knows how difficult it is trying to succeed in a world that’s not ready for the music they produce. He wants to be a reliable shoulder for upcoming artists and help them reach their goals.
