Why I Think Puerto Rico Is Perfect For Entrepreneurs

Puerto Rico

When you think of beautiful destinations in the United States to visit you might think of Miami, Florida or California for the beaches, but one place you might not think of is Puerto Rico. Yes, Puerto Rico is apart of the U.S. and it is just like being in any other state in the U.S. and you actually don’t even need a passport to fly there. The beautiful island has everything you need for a perfect vacation like beaches, warm weather, incredible architect, lovely towns, and not to mention the amazing food.

Since I moved to Puerto Rico I have noticed more and more entrepreneurs visiting the island and a lot of them are opening up businesses here, trading in city life for island life and making the island of enchantment their home.  In fact, in just a few short years we have had an avalanche of top influencers and entrepreneurs move to the island, including people like Brendon Burchard, John Lee Dumas, Jason Capital, Brock Pierce, Peter Schiff, Bobby Stocks, Jennifer Hopp, Chase Hero, and Rhett Creighton.

But why are famous entrepreneurs constantly moving to Puerto Rico?

Here are a few reasons why Puerto Rico is the perfect spot for digital nomads and entrepreneurs alike:

#1 Beautiful Scenery

Even if you’re in Puerto Rico for a business like most people, you will feel like you’re on vacation because of how breathtaking the island is. Puerto Rico has some of the most beautiful beaches in the world. Most of the citizens there even speak English since it is apart of the U.S. and there is no need to exchange any sort of currency because Puerto Rico’s main currency is the U.S. dollar. The weather there is always perfect and warm. On the island, there is always music, parties, dancing, and great food so it is impossible to not have fun during your visit.

#2 Incredible Food

The history and culture in Puerto Rico are very rich and so the food there is very unique and quite amazing. In San Juan, there are plenty of bars, restaurants, and street vendors to choose from when you’re hungry. They have all kinds of desserts and foods that are unique to the island. They have dishes like Mofongo which is a dish made up of deep-fried green plantains mashed together with other ingredients such as pork or seafood. They also have desserts like Tostones which are twice-fried unripe plantains that are served by restaurants and street vendors.

#3 Insane Tax Benefits

You might not know it, but in Puerto Rico, you pay a flat 4% corporate tax rate for your business, so no state or federal. In 2012 they enacted Act 20 as a way to motivate business owners to move there and for others to create new businesses with such a low corporate tax rate. Now, there are more businesses in Puerto Rico than there ever was before. You’re saving a ton of money and you don’t have to worry about crazy high tax percentages that you have to pay out at the end of the year. All you have to do is enjoy the island life.

#4 Thriving Entrepreneur Ecosystem

This could be due to some of the growing businesses such as Piloto 151, Parallel 18, Engine 4, CoCo House, Bitcoin Center PR, and ATO Ventures. I also just recently had my event Disrupt Week where I had many different entrepreneurs speak on stage, people like multi-millionaire John Malott and his business partner Ryan Stweman from Build Your Empire.  While other entrepreneurs attended for the knowledge. It seems as if the entrepreneur ecosystem is growing each and every day in Puerto Rico and I can’t wait to see where it’s at in 5 years.

If you’re thinking about taking a trip to Puerto Rico for business or just to escape, you will not be disappointed. The culture is so rich and welcoming that you will feel at home. The beaches and views are truly something incredible that you cannot experience anywhere else in the world. Head over to Puerto Rico and enjoy the gorgeous island, what are you waiting for?

When you get to the island shoot me a DM and I will show you around!
