Jay Parry and Louis Cooke are 2 young entrepreneurs based in the UK. Jay and Louis have been focusing on building drop-shipping brands via Instagram for the last 4-5 years. They focus heavily on automating without relying on paid advertising to build their businesses. Their streams of income are automated with their strategies for drop-shipping so they are now focusing on helping others achieve success with minimal budget and/or experience needed.
What’s your background story?
Jay & Louis: After years of being employed in jobs that we didn’t enjoy, hopping around different companies and just never being happy with that “9-5 life”, after seeing people we followed building companies and brands, we decided to embark on our own journeys. Just like many first time entrepreneurs, we both began with building clothing lines. These brands are where we discovered and learned strategies that we would later apply to drop-shipping to stray away from having to pay for advertising as everyone else does. We have built multiple brands that are now established and essentially run themselves with a minimal amount of work.
What inspired you to start entrepreneurship?
Jay & Louis: We have both had many jobs, working for good and bad people, doing good and bad jobs, but what we both knew is that we needed to work ourselves, run our own businesses, be our own bosses. We have always wished to be able to give back and become the bosses we wished we had, so now we are doing just that. Quality of life is everything in our offices. It’s our main focus for everyone here and always will be.
Can you share the most interesting story that happened to you since you started your journey?
Jay & Louis: We have both been on such crazy journeys as startup entrepreneurs and thanks to Instagram, were able to meet around 8 months ago. Our stories and experiences correlate hugely to the point where our first brands were actually very close competitors without actually knowing it. Since then we have been working on building multiple stores and businesses together to take things to the next level. With staff and offices 8 months later, we are already on the way.
What has been the biggest challenge and, on the flip side, the biggest reward of starting to drop-ship?
Jay & Louis: Honestly, coming from 2 guys who have built clothing brands with having to actually deal with manufacturers and have physical stock that we had to distribute ourselves. There really isn’t a ‘challenge’ when it comes to drop-shipping, moving to drop-shipping from actually owning stock has been a blessing and we honestly don’t think we’d go back into white labeling or holding stock. The reward of starting drop-shipping is that we no longer have to deal with buying in stock, no longer have to monitor stock levels or worry about investing the profits back in and the fact we’re not spending an hour at the post office sending orders out daily. Its all automated so we can focus on building the brands and establishing anything new we create.
What is one thing you wish you had known when you were starting out in your career?
Jay & Louis: We put down all of our success to the many failures we have made over the years. Without these, we wouldn’t have discovered what has worked for us. What we wish we would have known back, in the beginning, is that all those days when it was looking down and it was going wrong, was actually setting us up to find and achieve the success we were searching for.
What would you say to someone who came to you for advice about taking ‘the leap of faith’ into entrepreneurship?
We always believe heavily in mindset, motivation and having the correct guidance. With these 3 things perfected, anyone can succeed in the entrepreneurial game. Before we provide anyone with help or coaching, we ensure they are starting for the right reasons and have the right mindset that you need to have otherwise it’s a waste of everybody’s time. So realistically, if you know you’re ready, have the right work ethic and mindset, take the leap, you won’t regret it.
What is the best way for someone to reach you if they are interested in working with you?
Jay & Louis: We are both very active on Instagram, we may not post much but we are on stories and DM’s all day.
If you ever need any guidance or support, come and drop us a message, we will always get back to you.
Otherwise, follow and join in with the crazy journey we are on.
