Tell me a little bit about your background and how you ended up choosing the social media marketing field.

My entire life I have always been searching for a way out of the norms of society. I never wanted to go down the path of, go to school, drowning in debt, beg for a job, then work 40+ years of my life for 40+ hours a week making someone else wealthy.

I got on Instagram when I was 21 (about 5 years ago) because I saw it as an opportunity to make money by building a brand after seeing some success stories within my personal network.

After scaling my brands for a few years I soon realized that social media and the entire digital world of advertising was the near future and I also realized I was ahead of the game and could offer services to serious people who wanted to enhance their digital footprint.

What made you take the leap into entrepreneurship?

Freedom. That one word is what motivated me to start this journey and stay consistent with it all these years even after failing over and over again not knowing where the money would come from next.

I wanted freedom in both money and time.

Freedom in finances so I can do what I want, when I want, with whoever I want and not have any worry when it comes to spending money.

Freedom of time was also very important to me as it’s one thing to be a millionaire and work 100 hours a week…it’s another thing to make that kind of money while you are traveling and not locked down.

What are 3 best practice tips you can share with our readers as it relates to your industry?

So I will focus primarily on Instagram. If you want to build a brand that lasts and truly be a credible influencer then here are 3 major tips:

  1. High-quality content: I see so many people do this basic step wrong. Instagram is a visual platform and having high definition, vibrant, quality pieces of content that relate to your brand is vitally important. This is what captures the attention of the audience you are aiming for.
  2. Engage! Engage! Engage! Instagram is a social media meaning you need to be active every day with your followers. You will build a quality base of excited people by responding to comments, direct messages and even giving likes and comments to your followers. Be active and responsive on a daily basis.
  3. Instagram stories: Use your stories on a daily basis as well. Showcase your life to your followers. IG stories are a great place to connect on a much deeper level with new followers who are checking you out for the first time. It’s also a great way to provide free value that keeps people coming back.

How do you personally define success?

I heard a quote one time that said, “Success is the progressive realization of a worthy ideal”. In other words, if you have a goal that you are excited about working towards every day then you are a success. I truly believe that as success is more of a feeling than a specific thing or achievement.

What gets you excited when you think about it? Start working towards that.

How do you differentiate yourself from others in your field?

By simply being honest and transparent up front with potential clients then delivering real, premium results for anyone that works with me.

There is a lot of money hungry young people in this space that don’t have the experience, personal results, or proper infrastructure to deliver as my team can. That’s just the reality of it and partly why I got into this market.

I am also very hands-on with my clients meaning I don’t just take your money and never talk to you again.

What would you say to someone who came to you for advice about taking the ‘leap of faith’ into entrepreneurship?

Like Nike says, “Just do it”. The way I see it is everything is a risk. It doesn’t matter if you go to college, take that job or start a business. Nothing is guaranteed in life.

The funny thing is whatever you decide on and start pouring your energy into will work for your benefit.

You only get one life so don’t waste it on a false security.

We are entering an era where everyone is interested in multiple income streams. How does one decide on a business to pursue?

Passion. There are endless ways of making money in today’s world but the key is finding something that excites you. That you can wake up and feel good about. Whatever you focus on grows so you want to find something that is worth your precious time.

What would you say was the single most influential factor in your business’ success?

Growing the skill set of personal communication and relationships. Yes, learning how to talk with people and how to build an actual relationship with them that includes trust is a skill. We live in a world with almost 8 billion people, learn how to network with a portion of those people and your entire life can change!

Name 3 people in the business world who inspire you the most.

Gary Vaynerchuk, Jason Stone, Tony Robbins.

These three guys have accomplished a lot in their lives and have done so in a variety of industries.

Each one brings valuable lessons to the table for any entrepreneur in today’s fast-moving digital space.
