Movers & Shakers Interview with Dylan Bowles

Dylan Bowles

Tell us your name and a little about yourself.

Dylan Bowles, founder of FutureGen Media.  I left college before finishing my business degree to start my own online business and take advantage of the opportunities we all have in the digital age.  I am originally from Albuquerque, New Mexico but recently moved to the Dallas/Fort Worth area to do something new and grow my network.

What exactly does your company do?

We help local businesses grow and attract more customers by using social media and internet marketing

What were the biggest challenges you have faced and how did you overcome them?

Making the decision to stop going to college in order to start a business and overcoming the fear and anxiety that comes with the uncertainty and risk involved.  But by investing in myself, educational courses, mentors, business conferences, and surrounding myself with a positive group of people who encourage me, I have been able to continue growing my business and helping my clients grow along the way.

What piece of advice do you wish someone had given you at the start of your career?

Just remember that it is going to take way more hard work and effort than you ever imagined in order to reach the level of success you desire, but anything is possible so never, ever give up.

Who are your biggest influences and people you admire and why?

My parents, for always working hard and showing me that anything is possible, my mentors in the internet marketing space, for teaching me the strategies and methods to starting and growing an online business and for helping me understand that we are the only ones who hold ourselves back in life, we are the only ones who put limits onto how much success we can achieve.

None of us are able to achieve success without some help along the way. Is there a particular person who you are grateful towards who helped get you to where you are?

My parents for always supporting me and encouraging me no matter how hard things got, I knew I could always count on them.

What do you see as your greatest success in life?

Helping my clients grow their businesses and being able to impact others in a positive way
