Tell us your name and a little about yourself.

Melissa Thompson – Single mom of 2, founder of health and wellness publication HarcourtHealth, sushi lover, fitness nut, Mormon.

What exactly does your company do?

We publish ebooks in several genres on Amazon, as well as multiple health related articles daily on the online mag, HarcourtHealth.com

What were the biggest challenges you have faced and how did you overcome them?

Figuring out how to monetize my writing ability. I started working for a marketing agency and learned SEO and content marketing, and used my knowledge and skills I gained there to eventually create my own sustainable magazine.

What piece of advice do you wish someone had given you at the start of your career?

Surrounding yourself with the right people (basically people you want to be like someday) always pays dividends, whether you realize them in the short term or not.

Who are your biggest influences and people you admire and why?

Arnold Schwarzenegger, as odd as that sounds. He worked hard for what he achieved, but he also made sure to point out he couldn’t have gotten so far without help from others.

None of us are able to achieve success without some help along the way. Is there a particular person who you are grateful towards who helped get you to where you are?

Adam Torkildson. He helped me refine my processes and introduced me to some very key people who I now do business with every day.

What do you see as your greatest success in life?

Being able to work from home and take care of my kids while earning a decent income doing what I love.
