The Success Anatomy: Interview with Software Developer Saransh Kataria

Saransh Kataria is a software developer who has been working in the industry for about 5 years. He has a passion for developer communities which was why he started Facebook Developer Circle.
Recently, I got the chance to talk to Kataria and I was able to ask him a few questions. Here’s how our conversation went:
Can you tell me a bit about yourself?
My name is Saransh Kataria and I’m currently living in the United States. I am a software developer who has been working in the industry for about 5 years.
I love building things and getting things done. I have a passion for developer communities and that is one of the reasons I started one with support from Facebook known as Facebook Developer Circle. I lead the Delhi (India) chapter for the same which is currently 12,000+ members.
Apart from all this, I like sharing my knowledge and lessons learned in the form of a blog Wisdom Geek where I share a lot of my developer learnings along with some self-help stuff. When not doing either of those things, I can be found randomly exploring new places and traveling to different parts of the world.
What has been your greatest source of inspiration?
I don’t have specific things to keep me moving, but the community has always been a contributing factor to me and that is why I try and be around one. Seeing other people do great things and having that vibe are the little things that matter to me and make a huge difference for me.
What values and principles do you attribute your success to?
I love keeping things simple and sticking to some basic principles, and that is what keeps me productive and most effective in doing things. I like keeping things to the point and minding my own business, trying to help wherever I am able to.
What words of advice would you like to share with anyone out there who wants to excel?
Just do your own thing and be consistent. If you keep doing it and believe that success belongs to you, it eventually will come to you. You just have to keep going.
What is your favorite quote in the world?
I wrote one for myself:
“For over and over, I have failed. And in the process of losing it all, I realized that I might actually win.” –Saransh Kataria
