eTA Canada for Norwegian Citizens

Norwegian citizens traveling to Canada are required to obtain travel authorization before they can enter the country. This process has been simplified significantly since the Canadian government introduced the electronic travel authorization (eTA) system in 2016.
It is now possible to obtain an electronic visa waiver for CANADA VISA FOR NORWAY CITIZENS exclusively online through the simple eTA application, eliminating the need to visit a Canadian embassy or consulate to apply for a travel authorization in person.
An approved eTA for Norway is a multiple entry travel authorization which allows the holder a total stay of 6 months in Canada with each entry.
Below you will find all the information you need to meet the requirements for an online visa waiver for Canada from Norway and submit an application.
DO NORWEGIAN CITIZENS NEED A VISA FOR CANADA?
All Norwegian travelers are required to hold a Canadian visa before they can legally enter the country.
Those Norwegians planning to spend up to 180 days in Canada can obtain a visa waiver through the simple eTA application form online. It only takes a few pieces of information, a device with an internet connection, and about 30 minutes to complete the application.
Once the Canadian electronic authorization is granted, it is automatically linked to the traveler’s passport. A Canadian eTA is valid for five years, or until the associated passport expires, whichever comes first.
Holders of an approved eTA who travel to Canada multiple times over the years do not need to reapply for travel authorization for every visit. Likewise, the Canadian eTA can be used for multiple entries as long as they are under 180 days in duration.
CANADIAN ETA REQUIREMENTS FOR NORWEIGAN CITIZENS
In order to submit an eTA Canada application from Norway, there are a few requirements that must be met. They include the following:
- A valid biometric Norwegian passport – All Norwegian citizens must have a current passport with a minimum validity of 6 months in order to receive a Canadian eTA visa waiver and travel to Canada. The eTA is electronically linked to the passport used to complete the application.
- Documents with Personal Information – While filling out the application, all travelers will need to provide information that pertains to their passport, personal information (address, contact information), employment history, and travel details/itinerary. Applicants are advised to keep these documents nearby so they can easily access them while going through the application.
- A phone, tablet, or computer device – In order to fill out the application, travelers will need a device with internet access, such as a phone, tablet, or computer.
- A valid form of payment – Finally, travelers will need a valid form of payment, such as a debit or credit card, to pay the CANADA VISA FOR NEW ZEALAND CITIZENS fees and ultimately submit their application
Once all of these requirements have been met, you are eligible to apply for a Canadian electronic travel authorization online. Please see the next section for instructions on how to do so.
HOW TO APPLY FOR AN ETA CANADA FROM NORWAY
The eTA application for Norwegian citizens only takes about 30 minutes to complete, which includes answering all of the questions and paying the eTA fee.
The application is simple and straightforward: applicants will need to fill out a few questions about themselves (full name, date of birth), their contact details (address, email), and include some details about employment history and travel itinerary.
Finally, it is advised that applicants submit a Canadian eTA application at least 72 hours (3 days) in advance of the intended travel so that there is enough time to process it.
However, Norwegian citizens who are planning to travel to Canada within 24 hours and have not yet applied for an eTA are advised to select the urgent eTA processing option when paying the travel authorization fee. This rush processing service guarantees that the applicant’s eTA will be processed in under 60 minutes, and they will also receive a response about the eTA status within this time.
