Fitness is undoubtedly a vital aspect of every human being’s life. One’s level of fitness predicates their lack of diseases and the ability to perform essential, day to day functions. Be that as it may, modern society has made it more challenging to attain excellent health with the normalization of junk food and sedentary lifestyles. With that in mind, Mike Jaber, CEO of Jab Gym, has committed to rectifying that.

Jab Gym is an MMA-inspired fitness gym in DuPage County, Illinois. The gym specializes in Boxing, Kickboxing, Muay Thai, HIIT Training, Sports Training, Suspension Training, and many more. Jab Gym boasts highly-qualified, and highly-trained instructors and coaches that are more than able to help everyone, young and old, and of varying fitness levels achieve better health. “Invest in Yourself” is Jab Gym’s motto. Accordingly, they are highly committed to motivating their members to accomplish their fitness goals.

Mike Jaber founded Jab Gym in memory of his beloved brother, Sammy, after he passed away. Wanting to build something for Sammy’s children when they get older, Mike put all his life savings into the establishment. However, tragedy hits as a week before they officially opened, the government forced most establishments to close down as they imposed lockdowns all over America to curb the spread of COVID-19.

As the lethal claws of this globally-feared virus wrapped around the throat of the United States and other countries of the world, government solutions have severely damaged economies. Especially for small to medium enterprises, the current pandemic has bludgeoned income and is threatening to put hardworking owners permanently out of business.

For Mike, closing down might as well mean death, as he gave everything, his heart, and soul, to the gym.

Despite the executive order of J.B. Pritzker, the governor of Illinois, Mike, and Jab Gym exercised their constitutional rights. Jab Gym opened back up as the other choice would be to be permanently out of business, threatening Mike and all employees with a life of financial ruin. Because of their decision, Jab Gym was served a citation and will have to go to court despite massive support from the community.

The public clamor to have the Jab Gym open stems from the fact that people do need to exercise and make themselves fit after a considerable length of the quarantine period. And since Jab Gym offers a one-of-a-kind service, treating members like family, as well as a friendly and motivating environment that judges no one, their suspension understandably affects a lot of people in the area.

The pandemic has taken the world by storm, locking everyone in their homes and disrupting the entire population’s lifestyle. It has wrought immense mental pain as well as a physical arrest for most people. Because of that, Jab Gym deems it an obligation to resume operations and give everyone depending on them the help they need to stay healthy during these challenging times.
