How to apply for an Indian Visa
Anyone who wishes to visit India must obtain a visa before arrival, unless they are from one of the few countries that are exempt. The process for applying for an Indian visa is relatively straightforward and can be done entirely online.
First, visit the website of the Indian embassy or consulate in your home country. There you will find an application form that must be completed in full and submitted electronically. Be sure to answer all questions truthfully and accurately – any mistakes could result in your application being rejected.
Next, you will need to pay the visa fee. This can be done using a credit or debit card, or through a bank transfer. Once your payment has been processed, you will need to submit additional documentation, such as a passport-sized photo and a copy of your passport’s biographical page.
Finally, submit your application and wait for a decision from the embassy. If your application is successful, you will receive an electronic visa that must be printed out and presented upon arrival in India.
