Your Network Is Your Net Worth: The Colby Tucker Story

The world of business and entrepreneurship has endless amounts of overused sayings and irritating quotes that can often pollute our social media feeds and be heard being regurgitated by random friends who have perhaps watched one too many Ty Lopez ads. However, with this being said, there is one saying that sticks out as an eternal truth in the business world that gets overlooked… This saying being, “Your network is your net worth”, an aphorism commonly rehearsed by silicon valley investors, this chant has certainly rung true for many. A perfect example of a person who has truly taken this to the heart is none other than Colby Tucker.
Colby, 25, has never been one to fit the “traditional mold”, in college he found himself unable to maintain over a 2.0 GPA and after dropping out, he was fired from his father’s business. With no options left Colby began utilizing the one skill that truly makes him stand out, his ability to connect with people and his ability to help others do the same. Colby said to me, “In spite of all of my failures, I understood one fundamental truth, if I could continue to provide value to the people I met and was able to bring them all together in a meaningful way, I would be able to create a business that lived outside of my mistakes.” In the beginning, with little connections or resources, Colby would scrape together what he had to do one thing – give. Colby said “ I gave gifts to people I wanted to be like, learn from, and be around – specifically in entertainment. I started by giving sneakers to people in schoolboy Q’s camp and do what I could to build a meaningful and long-lasting relationship with those individuals who I respected and saw value in.
Colby continued to carve his way into the entertainment world, attending hundreds of concerts and music festivals as a VIP or All Access guest. (check out his crazy collection of passes below) Seeing artists and developing relationships with the teams of celebrities ranging from the likes of Kanye West, Drake, Wiz Khalifa, G-Eazy, The Weeknd, Shawn Mendes, Ariana Grande, and more. As a result, Colby has made a name for himself as an entertainment plug and chronic all-access attendee of basically everything awesome.
Since then, the rest is history, Colby has worked with a multitude of influential people in a plethora of different industries, including tech, politics, art, business, venture capital, and real estate. Currently, Colby owns and operates a marketing company by the name of Auppers Media and has an app slated to launch in the next coming months by the name of Ntrust. Colby stated, “Greatness is found in great people, I hope that in meeting great people, that I will be able to cultivate some greatness of my own and share that with the world.” Clearly a powerful networker, Colby is the personification of someone who’s network quite literally is their net worth. As time continues to go on, we should expect nothing less than great things to come from Colby.
