Three Ways to Position Yourself for Growth in 2020 and Beyond!!

It’s not just a new year, it’s a new decade…….and welcome to it!!

I’m pretty sure your mind is buzzing with possibilities for all that you can accomplish as you forge forward, and I’d just like to tell you that everything you desire can be yours.

Creating a new path, however, can be a bit tricky if you’re unsure of the terrain or what may lie ahead, which is why I’ve compiled my top three growth strategies for 2020 to help you build your brand successfully.

With the world is changing and consumers being bombarded with so many messages, those who integrate these with their digital strategies will emerge stronger than ever in the next decade.

Just a few slight modifications to your existing marketing plan and you’ll be reaching your goals in record time.


#1: High touch equals high value

Although I’ve been preaching this for years, it seems that only now that clients (and a few marketers) are seeing the true benefits of face to face interactions.

We live in a digital world where everything happens virtually, but while consumers love the convenience of sitting at home and scrolling online for what they need; human interaction may be the way to really draw them in.

We are social creatures by nature so it’s imperative to find a way to show up in person and truly interact with your tribe. This can look like:

  • Hosting your own or being a guest speaker at a live event
  • Creating a workshop or in-person masterclass
  • A pop up display at a location frequented by your target audience
  • Sampling opportunities or demonstrations of your products and services at various events or expos


Always remember to include ways for your people to contact you directly and, get on the phone with them if need be so they can actually hear your voice. Suddenly you won’t seem so far away and they will be more likely to trust you and ultimately purchase from you.



#2: Uplevel your content marketing with storytelling

From a marketing perspective, it’s one of the tested and true ways to stand out in a noisy world.

People are bombarded with messages and images and they need to know that there’s someone out there who gets them and truly understands the journey they’re on. Sharing your story will help them realize that you are just like them. You too have gone through the pain, heartache, disappointment, stress and came through.

Emotional connection with your audience is an extremely powerful marketing tool. You see, money is no object when feelings are at play. Your audience will want what you have……..because you are living proof that it works. Your people will stick by you, understand and appreciate you, and most of all pay you.

Make this a part of your content strategy and I guarantee your brand’s visibility, as well as your sales, will increase.



#3: Publicity & Public Relations are your new best friends

Being interviewed on podcasts, television and radio programs, featured online and on print publications and even guest blogging are all ways to increase your credibility and solidify your status in the minds of consumers; plus it truly does wonders for your brand awareness, because the more places you show up, is the more publications will want to feature you and the more people will want to hear from you. This is one tried and true way to get seen as an expert in your industry and I can tell you from personal experience being mentioned in Forbes, Kivo Daily, Buzzfeed and Huffington Post (to name a few) has done a tremendous job in increasing my brand’s visibility.

On another note, public relations efforts will be even more crucial as you move into the new decade and beyond as every campaign may have the potential to offend a segment of the population. Knowing how to effectively recover and stay true to who you are and your people will make the world of difference for your brand.



Even without a huge budget, these three strategies can be effectively implemented and will guarantee increased awareness and visibility for your brand, not to mention you’ll always remain top of mind to your customers.
