Where To Put Affiliate Marketing Links By Anne Balad

Affiliate marketing is a good way to earn side income online. If you happen to do it right, you can earn passive income easily.

The key to success in affiliate marketing is through traffic and branding. You can achieve that by posting your links where people can see it and by creating content on different online platforms.

If you are new a new affiliate marketer or just signed up for an affiliate program and do not know where to start, here are some platforms that will help you get traffic?

1. Website

When you are starting out as an affiliate marketer or partner, make sure to have a website. This is the best one to start with when you are new in affiliate marketing because most affiliate programs require you to have a website or blog first before joining.

It is also a good investment to have a website because you can drive organic user traffic if you know how to do Search Engine Optimization (SEO). Just optimize your website for the search engines and in turn, you do not have to rely too much on social media, sponsored posts, and paid ads since people will find you when they look up the necessary keywords they are looking for.

An SEO optimized site will allow you to get free traffic to your links consistently. User traffic means money and if you get your user traffic without paying for it, then you can get passive income in affiliate marketing.

A website works best if you have a main product or service that you want to market. Lead them to a website with a call-to-action on the landing page.

Nowadays, it is easy for you to own a website. You can create a free website using a website builder which does not require coding know-how or web development knowledge.

2. Blog

Along with the website, you should have a blog. The blog acts as a supplementary to the website where you can write articles which are SEO optimized.

A blog also allows you to write multiple blog posts and attach different affiliate links with it. This works best if you are partnered with different affiliate programs. The more articles and content you write, the more people are likely to find you with your article keywords.

To optimize a blog article, you should do the following:

  • Keyword research
  • Keywords in URL
  • High traffic headline title
  • Necessary headings
  • Input image text
  • Relevant internal and external links
  • Meta description with necessary keywords
  • Blog tags

3. Facebook Page/Facebook Groups

Next thing to setup is your social media pages such as on Facebook. You can put your affiliate marketing links directly on your posts or you may also use Facebook as a bridge to drive traffic to the main page of your website or blog article where the affiliate link is posted.

A brand Facebook page is also a great way to grow your audience. However, with the Facebook algorithm, these days, not all followers or your page will be able to see your content. Thus, it is best practice to promote your posts on Facebook groups as well but be sure to check the rules and regulations of the groups you are in before posting your affiliate links.

4. Youtube Channel

If your brand or business has a Youtube channel, be sure to create content that people will want to watch and at the same time be related to the affiliate link you are posting.

Try not to look too sponsored or too promotional. Instead, try to make the videos as authentic as possible. The affiliate links can be put on the description box or as a Youtube card which appears on the screen.

However, there is a downside to linking externally on Youtube cards as Youtube’s new rules state that you can only use that specific option if you have at least 10,000 views and have joined the Youtube partner program.

5. Email Subscribers

Sending out email is one of the most effective forms of marketing. According to a study done by McKinsey & Company, converting users into buyers is 40 times more effective than social media. People are also checking their emails on a regular basis on their phones.

To send newsletters, you must have an email list of users who have subscribed on your website. It is ideal that you put your affiliate link in the middle and at the end of the newsletter as a link text and as a call-to-action button respectively.

6. Instagram Page

An Instagram page is a great affiliate marketing platform when it comes to products due to its visual aspect. You may also utilize Instagram stories to promote your affiliate links.

To use the Instagram stories “Swipe Up” feature where you can lead viewers to your affiliate link, you must have a business account with more than 10,000 followers first. So post consistently because the Instagram algorithm thrives on user engagement and interaction.

Otherwise, you can just put your affiliate links on the user bio of your Instagram account. The only downside though is that you can only put one affiliate link at a time.

Do note that if you put your affiliate link on the caption or comment section of any photo on Instagram, it will only be written as a text and not be a link attribute. Thus, clicking on it will not lead anywhere.
