In 2019, if you’re an entrepreneur and you haven’t heard about cloud computing, then you’re missing out on a ton of good things.

The first time I heard about cloud computing, I thought it was another one of those fancy techy made-up words used to confuse the common guys like myself. 

But I was wrong. This was an untapped goldmine.

According to Forbes, the cloud computing market is projected to hit $411 billion by 2020.

 

What exactly is Cloud Computing?

Back in the day, for a business to function effectively, it needed an IT team, with IT infrastructures. But due to limited resources, expertise and infrastructures, there was a limit on what small businesses could accomplish.

But right now, cloud computing is revolutionizing the industry.

“Cloud computing is the delivery of computing services; including servers, storage, databases, networking, software, analytics, and intelligence over the Internet (“the cloud”) to offer faster innovation, flexible resources, and economies of scale.” according to Microsoft Azure

Cloud computing services offer users a variety of functions, which includes:

  • Analyzing data

  • Email services

  • Storage, backup, and data retrieval…

You must have heard about it, in a random conversation, a random article or an ad.

And if you haven’t heard about it, well, I wouldn’t hold it against you. 

Slack is an American cloud-based team collaboration tool. It focuses on one major thing and that is “communication”. No team can function effectively without an effective communication channel.

Slack can replace email, text messaging and instant messaging for your team.

Slack was built on the concept of effective communication across teams, and it doesn’t disappoint in its functions.

It is an easy, reliable cloud platform for video and audio conferencing, collaboration, chat, and webinars across mobile devices, desktops, telephones, and room systems.

Zoom was founded in 2011 and since then, it has helped businesses to create a frictionless environment amidst their teams in order to get more work done.

I use zoom myself to schedule meetings with my colleagues. It is an awesome app that deserves more praise.
